Currently, the station is under a long period restoration. Work on the main station has started as boards have been placed in front of the main entrance of the station and roof work is starting to get underway. Work will continue on the REA Building, the new roof is complete but the overall mainframe still needs additional support. The roof on the main station is starting to be repaired and repainted, as the platform canopy has also been repainted. Work on the station will continue in the near future, sometime after winter.
Also, Patrick Roach, the Architect contracted by Amtrak has created future floor plans for the Phase II Inter-modal Study on the station. Plans are in full swing and Jackson Station will soon reach it's full potential!
